Ah, yes, the lovely Rayanna Dibs. The British woman who can act and sing and do voice-overs and who understands what it takes to have a real career in the film industry. She’s not the kind of person who got into the business for shallow reasons, that is, to be famous or to be a “movie star.” She is an actress through and through and she continues to hone her craft so she can become an even better actor today than she was yesterday. Rayanna is one of the rare gems out there who takes her job and her vocation extremely seriously.
If you watch her interviews and acting snippets on Youtube you’re immediately drawn in to this woman’s genuineness and her complete immersion into whatever character she’s playing at the time. Sincerity is perhaps the word that fits her performances best; Rayanna’s acting is honest. When she fits herself into a character for a film or a stage production it’s as though she not only knows who that persona is, but she becomes that personality. There’s no deceit or pretense there; she, with all her intensive training and natural talent, simply is that character.
Rayanna knew she would be a professional actress when she was only 12. How fortunate is that? Most of us never realize what we’re here on this planet for. We just float from job to job while never really getting in touch with our true destiny. Rayanna is a great example for many of us and we can see her life as a straight line from knowing what she would do when she was young, right up to seeing her in the feature films that she’s done as an adult. There’s no break in her path.
When she was old enough she studied the acting techniques of Strasberg and Stanislavsky and then she went to university and got her degree in drama & acting with honors, (of course). She also took the time to travel to the states and studied acting at several prestigious institutions, all the while, getting acting jobs on stage and in films. She’s had plenty of roles in films and she’s currently shooting the TV Drama Special Miracle Landing on the Hudson for National Geographic directed by Simon George. She is also now rehearsing the lead role in the classic 80s stage play Steaming which previews in September this year.
Rayanna isn’t an ordinary person in any sense of the word. She’s engaging, beautiful, highly intelligent, driven, talented and very witty. Even though she shuns the movie star tag, we certainly see her as a star in the making.
